Knot

The Knot collection consists of double-sided macramé carpets made from pure cotton wicks. In each design, vertical clove hitches form the structural and visual foundation of the textile surface. The colors were obtained through clay and plant dyeing, using natural resources sourced from my immediate environment, such as spruce cones, staghorn sumac inflorescences, and onion husks.

By choosing to develop the project using the macramé technique, I aimed to present traditional craftsmanship in a completely new light, expanding it into a large-format, functional context. The collection is the result of several months of intensive handwork. Its initial concepts and first pieces were developed as part of my Master’s diploma project (2020).

All production waste generated during the process is reused.
